Canva Board - Everyone agree to use canva board where we find it is easier to use and able to communicate well in terms in using visual.
Google Drive & Docs - Siew Weng suggest that we can wrote down our own experience after playing both among us and goose goose duck game along with the design perspective, this memories just like previous module Game Studies
Reflection : Group and form into a group (4 person in a group , is my favourite people in intercultural trip in Japan and I knew we could collaborate well, Japan Gang Gang)Week 1 is basically form into group, and create group chat , create more links for folder and docs , and no need get know each other as I think we already all kawan kawan for quite awhile. I remember we did spin the wheel, where Jia Hui is defiantly destined to be the leader , love her management skills as always. I believe we can do well , and able to make it till week 14 with everyone inside the team , let's go girlss !

Among Us - Playing Experience |
This is my very first time officially trying to play Among Us just for this Art Direction module. I had heard about this game’s popularity especially during the pandemic. I also noticed ALOT of funny memes that are related to the game shared online. Since this is my first time, I was a bit confused. I noticed that Among Us offers a few different maps like The Skeld, MIRA HQ, Polus, and the Airship, and I thought maybe I should familiarise myself with them before joining the “real game” (grandma learning style). As a newbie, I worried about not doing well and possibly being the weakest on the team.
So, I decided to try out the practice mode first before diving into the REAL games with online players. Please do not laugh at me, but my first game in Among Us with random online players made me really nervous. They were using this gaming lingo like "SUS," and I was totally clueless. I was like, "What's SUS? Who's SUS? 😭" Eventually, I figured out that it means" suspicious." Oh boy, the learning curve in gaming can be a rollercoaster! But after trying a few times, I find that this game is fun but at the same time gets boring quickly because it felt like all it was doing was guessing who the Impostor was and lots of tasks to do. Then there are those moments where the emergency meetings when everyone starts accusing each other which ends really quick by killing the wrong people. I think playing this game is a lot more enjoyable when you're with your real friends rather than playing with random people you meet online. It's just more fun and comfortable when you're with people you know and can have a good time together.

Goose Goose Duck - Playing Experience |
Goose Goose Duck seems like another game inspired by Among Us due to its surge in popularity. However, it offers much more depth and content than what you might see at first glance. Unlike Among Us, which can sometimes feel repetitive, Goose Goose Duck offers a wide range of roles for ducks and geese, along with various maps and game modes to keep players entertained for an extended period.
Speaking of game modes, Goose Goose Duck boasts six different ones, which is a significant contrast to Among Us, which has only two. As a tip from a newbie like me, keeping practising would be a key to improving the skills in GGD. The mini game (Duties) are a great way to do this, as they aren't overly difficult, and there's a variety of them. The more efficiently you complete these mini-games, the better you can manage countdown timers or prevent critical sabotages. Familiarising yourself with each mini-game will save you valuable time and ensure you know what to do
Reflection : Jia Hui our leader prepare a ganchart for us , where I think is useful whenever there's deadline there will be a possible efficient outcome and able to done it on time. On then that, this week still consider smooth , nothing stressful , still able to enjoy abit . For the play game experience in these both games, honestly it feels like no choice :( cause I am not sure since when I been losing interest in playing games , therefore it does need lots of time and patience , sitting there quietly and a bit nervous in playing games cause everything is new to me , but glad that in the end it does feel fun ? a little.

Mood-board : Character & Environment |
Group 5 : Positioning Map & Stylization Map in board |
Using a positioning map, is it easier to understand to locate and comprehend the diverse art styles within the 57 video games, movies, films, characters, and blind box figures which categorized into cute, stylish, futuristic, retro, and dark themes.
Moving on to the Stylization Map, I break down the information further. Here, I delve into character and environment stylization. This process aids me in identifying a wide range of styles. As observed, there are stylized proportions, with human proportions transitioning from traditional design to more abstract propositions.

Week 09 (19/10/2023) - Among Us UI Analysis Buttons
Link : UI-Analysis-Among Us
Reflection : As everything is not confirm, we UI/UX side, did a UI analysis for the game interface and also button. I know this is not necessary inside the MIB, but in terms of this way, we could understand well of how it functions along with the buttons inside the game play. As we're not familiar with gaming stuff to do this, helped us alot , and giving us idea when we design it.
Week 10 (26/10/2023) - Voting / Chating Screen Frame
![]() |
Progress : Voting & Chatting screen |
Reflection : During Week 10 , I kinda getting lost and lost as everything is not confirm from the others team members, for instance is it so hard to figure it out how's the voting chating screen looks like as character is not confirm and finalise yet. Somehow the frame do gives a futuristic vibes but in terms of the usability of how to put others element together is like "mehhh" I don't know how it could works actually.

Taylor's Library Door |
Siew Weng do recognised my situation as this is defiantly the frame problem that cause of lack of progress in week by week :/ let's just change it ! during that day it was a half day in mac lab where just me and siew weng getting sakit kepala of the progress, everything seems not working untill we left the library , where we saw the door. that gives the idea about the futuristic panel !
Week 11 (02/11/2023) - Voting / Chating Screen New Frame , Buttons

Buttons In Among Us |
To focused on few scene there's also progress of buttons , where this fews button is needed for few scene like task design , environment in security room , 02 room , electrical room.
Reflection : It was quite hurt :( and sad that when we try to use Figma and explore more onto the game for among us suddenly there's"why use Figma to do it?" "this is art direction yo..." well... of course there's always the reason behind it , since we specialise in UI/UX why cant't me explore more and delve deeper into Figma ? don't just the interaction part more engaging ? and we can do more than that instead a static form, At first I do shocked when Siew Weng suggested that maybe we could do in Figma , I was ":O" for real ?? After she did try , I can see is definitely having some progress of our part and even can designed in Figma and we also can see other what we are doing in anytime. Therefore no more blur blur in terms of our progress and I trust my partner and let's Go and do it , use Figma to design more game interface and YES I can tell i do improving a lot especially using figma. And I love the new futuristic frame I would say ! is matches in any environment and gives a vibe

For the logo progress, At first during proposal stage, we were so into the inflate effect, where it does seem cool and easy to achieve that 3D effect. However looking back it seems like this logo still look not that unique and not matches to the overall theme of our new among us design. Therefore we need renovation more to the Logo

Progress : Among Us Logo #2 |
Moving on , we tried into different typeface looks, it does seems cool , however given feedback from our leader jia hui, she concern that , it seems transparency and the logo is too long need to be either in 2 line , which I do agreed too.
Vote / Chat Screen

Progress : Vote / Chat Screen |
Finally here's come to the "almost end" of the vote and chat screen, where every week there MUST be a progress for this , keep on changing the colour , the style the look , the layout, finally here's comes to the final where using 3D form of character and also have a timer during vote .
Week 12 (16/11/2023) - Task Design & Map

Progress : Task Design![]() |

Close-up of Task design |
I was handled the part of creating the UI for task design part, where I noticed that from the original Among Us need the task completion bar where I designed it into different colour to differentiate following with each room , and also labelled it correctly what is needed o be done inside each room for the task. And also what need to include is also the "guide" icon , this is some additional ideas where we proposed , this guide able to guide new user to learn on how to play the task part in Among Us.
Week 13 (23/11/2023) - Figma Interaction / Guide / Editing Effect for Kill Animation
![]() |
Progress : Shop - Name Plates |
Moving on , this week progress include user guide and to settle back to the pre-game part , which is the "shop" that sells name plate for character to use during game play. I try to look into online game for some reference into their shops.

Progress :Emergency Meeting
|
Following that, we observed that certain aspects need to change from Jia Hsuan side, I noticed that her side required some adjustments, particularly in the overall scene , including lighting, shadows, and font. Some tweaks in Photoshop were necessary. You can now observe a noticeable difference, aligning more closely with the theme of the killing animation, with adjusted lighting and dark shadows to vividly represent the intense scenes of the act.

Progress : Figma Interaction![]() |
Last by not least, this is the very final steps where connect very fist scene till the end. Siew Weng was incharged alot in this stage, while I helped in record all the flow as a video and give it some edit.

Sound effect used in Among Us |
Moving on to the suprise part , where we want to include this video into our presentation at the last slides, if you could notice how each button produces a distinct sound effect when clicked, and each room is enveloped in its own unique ambient soundscape. Sooo if you watching it , I hope you really will enjoyed all of our blood , sweat and tears this past 14 weeks. So, kick back, unwind, and enjoy the video yo ! 🥺
Final Art Direction : Among Us Showcase
P/S : Recommend using headphones for an enhanced sound experience.😊

Final Among Us - Prototype Group 5
Reflection :
Finally, we have reached the end. Unfortunately, during the presentation, there seemed to be a technical glitch (Till today I couldn't figure out what wrong with the sound effect )Most of the sound effects were lost, despite checking multiple times on both the screen and my phone, which made our presentation feel a bit disheartening. I sincerely feel sorry for the team . Initially, we planned for a surprise video with a showcase till the end. However, reality didn't quite meet our expectations. The background sound effects didn't work, and I found myself grappling with disappointment and frustration. It felt like a stroke of bad luck, I couldn't help but wonder if my efforts were insufficient.
Not enough sleep and emotion keep going down and down, cry a little while driving back home. I think I just need some time to rest and recover a bit. It's challenging to convey the emotions after investing so many weeks and days, only to end up feeling disheartened.
One thing I noticed that, on our side of UI/UX of the workload feels like doing little thing in everything and in anything, it was supposed to be a less stressful but enjoyable module yet in the end feels not that satisfied (due to the video showcase) , I do learnt from the lesson , prepare more and having a back-up plan too. Other than that, this module is quite freedom to explore whatever we wanted, there's mostly progression but not much lecture or tutorials but more towards self-explore. I wish miss would not angri about where we use Figma to do it :< we do enjoy using Figma as it really could explore more than that rather just use that for application or website. So yuppp giving a full stop to Art Direction. Bye !
