AR is the latest form of interactive design nowadays. Students are required to develop AR application with AR interactivity which will detect user face and expression.
Personal views about AR , AR art’s relationship with beauty, and how we envision ourselves?
People are becoming more self-aware and “curating” themselves a lot more, and AR in many cases provides so many opportunities for self-exploration. It’s never been so easy to experiment with a new look for yourself, without having to make the actual commitment. We’re a generation of shape-shifters, and due to AR, it’s become that much more easy to reinvent yourself.
With AR, I feel like I wanted to invent things that can't exist in real life. I don't think I necessarily have to create things that replicate the whole world but the fun part for me is that I can create something new.

TikTok, a popular video creation app that offers various options to edit short videos and add text or even do a green screen , and add filters and effects. Among them, adding filters effect are the effective way that can make the TikTok video for more appealing and attractive. Effects or filters are used to customize and add details to TikTok videos. Effects can be added before and after you record a video, but some effects are only available before recording and others are only available after. The most common use for these filters has been as face filters but you can add numerous types of effects to your photos and videos to alter your face, clothes, or surroundings to add a little more dynamic range to your content. TikTok is really paving the way for making these filters that are more in sophisticated

How to use Tiktok effect & filters
Step 1 : To start using the special filter on TikTok video, open up the camera by tapping the "+" icon

Step 2 : Click on the "Effects" tab located left of the "record" button, and then it will open up a collection of different TikTok filters.
Step 3 : Once all of the TikTok effects are visible on the screen, you can pick the one you want to try out.
Step 4 : When you tap on the selected filter effect, it will be applied to the frame. You can now exit out of the effects panel and film your TikTok.

1. AR Game Filters - Eat the donut filters

I love Instagram filter games and today I came across yet another game filters called Donuts! by @lorenzo_lezza . I remember there was a time where it became viral and the filters was share around in social media. I personally enjoy how powerful game filters can increase engagement and provide a fun activity for the user which add value and meaningful inside.
How it works ? The gameplay is very simple. First of all, it works on your face, so the user have to use the front camera and tap the screen to start the game when you are ready. Once the game is started, tasty fried chicken wings will fall down from the top. You need to align your mouth with each one and bite to get it. As you progress, those donuts will start falling faster and faster, so you need to be on your toes and react fast in order to both align yourself in parallel to the donuts and quickly open your mouth and bite to get it.

Snapchat has launched a new Cartoon 3D Style lens that will allow users to transform their selfies into Disney or Pixar-like characters. It uses transforms the user face into "a modern-day princ(ess)" , same goes to while scrolling through tiktok there also have a similar filters like the one snapchat have, This filter has clearly caught my attention and social media frenzy and that is why it has now gone viral.

During this time of isolation, many are feeling down, isolated, bored, and unmotivated to dress up and wear makeup. I feel that filters help elevate our mood and make us feel better about how we look. Afraid of revealing your natural face? No need to worry, all girl favourite beauty filter creator @re_mini_scene will be your confidence booster in no time. She created lots of cute element together that can enhance our facial features or skin to create more polished look. Her objective in creating filters is to make user feel more confident and attractive to camera . Besides, I also lowkey a fan of virtual changing hair colour filters , as I always having some struggle choosing a hair colour for what to dye my hair in the next time , therefore this filters are really useful to me

Having done all this research, I must admit that it was quite difficult for me to come up with an AR filter that is both aesthetic and creative at the same time. As a result, I decided not to stress myself out and just try my best to list down some of the current ideas that I have with me:

Idea 1 : Product Try-On Filter - Futuristic Virtual AR Glasses / magazine style
The filters idea is to make a futuristic design of glasses and together with a set of the magazine layout being used as a frame

Personally, I think that AR is a really clever tool for creating virtual fitting rooms. It’s feel likes it become the tradition that before anyone does something new in AR, just like any luxury and fashion brands do it in cooperation with filter providers.
For instance, DIOR has introduced a new AR filter to its Instagram account allowing its followers to virtually try on its new DiorSoLight sunglasses range, as eyewear is that part of their collections that is worn on faces, they naturally take advantage of face AR filters to promote them. there are a few ways to quickly change the model of glasses, such as with a tap, a specific head gesture, or with a native picker on the bottom of the screen.
Idea 2 : Beauty enhancement filter - Surreal Accessory Beauty filter

As first , the idea is to make a virtual / surreal 3D face mask design that able to protect yourself from viruses .The filters could experiment with different colours, shapes or textures to create a unique , beauty , aesthetic filters and lastly that could engaging for the users. Maybe the idea could be expand into other accessories like head garments too.
Idea 3 : Special effect filter - AR special effect filter with 3D text

The filter idea is to make a special effect with motivational quotes to the user's face or surroundings that could create a more interesting and visual appealing to the filters / inspire and uplift the users.
During these uncertain times, everyone needs every little push we can get to keep on going. A heart to heart talk with a friend, or reading about someone's inspirational story online are only some of the ways we can be inspired to get back on our feet, but we also have to remember that even the smallest things count. Therefore, Motivational quotes are often shared on social media as a way of spreading positivity and encouragement. It feels like it could possible be a source of inspiration for many people. With this idea, by using a filter that displays a motivational quote, users can remind themselves to stay positive, focused, and motivated.

The transformation filter idea is where my very first idea of doing the combination of "ugly witch" and "beauty princess" effects, allowing users to see themselves go from looking ordinary to becoming a beautiful princess.While the aim is to inspire people, boost their confidence, and remind them that beauty is not just about appearances. Some message that I would like to add on is to encourage self-expression and help users celebrate their worth and unique beauty.
***Update in week 8-9 :
After experiencing some trials and errors, the transformation filter I created didn't work as expected in TikTok's Effect House. However, I had a consultation with Mr. Rafiz and came up with some solution where I decided to break down the filters into two separate submissions, but for the competition, I can only submit one filter and the other would be submission for this module. It's a bit disheartening that I couldn't achieve what I initially intended. Perhaps I should have done more research on the functions and features of TikTok's Effect House and explored the types of filters that can be created before starting my own. Nevertheless, I'm still grateful for the valuable lessons I've learned from this experience.
To keep a record and preserve the memories, I've decided to document my progress here. Additionally, I've come up with two backup plans to further expand and enhance each individual filter. Despite the challenges, I remain optimistic and determined to make the most of this opportunity. SO Yeah :D

This wands was generate from Mid-journey , and I love the colours turns out. The colour looks very holographic and somehow reminds me the Sailor Moon wands. Which could be use in mine as well.

This Snow white does not help me that much, however, I am amazed by how the strong aesthetic quality and imaginative of AI can be.

Witch and Wands always reminded me something about purple, lightning and darkness theme. Therefore when create this, I purposely choosing something pink and purple materials for the wands which turns out something that I wanted.

As I noticed that the current trend of make-up mostly related to dreamy kind of looking with butterfly elements together Therefore i try my best to make the make-up more "artsy" and dreamy looking.

| Ipad Nomad Progress - making the crown |
While presenting my ideas during the proposal stage, I mentioned that I would utilize Nomad for 3D modelling. However, as a UI/UX student, my 3D modelling skills were not as advanced, and I faced time constraints in creating a well-crafted 3D crown. To address this, I decided to incorporate abstract elements from Sketchfab and combine them creatively to form the shape of a crown. The result was unique and pleasantly surprising, exceeding my initial expectations. Yay!

I try to search for relevant theme music that could match with the filter, after scrolling for half day , and here I choose "Let's get to work" by Daniel N. Martin , his music are mostly suitable for game but I find it interesting it like horror theme but not too horror ? Therefore I try to add and apply to the filter , surprisingly it blend well ?

The combination of witch & wand filter were actually inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter, story of Maleficent and also with the enchanting vibes of Halloween.
