Hi, My name is Tan Pei Yun . I'm turning 20 this year and currently studying about creative media , specialisation in UI/UX at Taylor's. I am one of the INFJ, often known as "extroverted introverts" or "ambiverts." I'm shy and quiet, but also charming, amusing, and humorous. For an INFJ, it all depends on the situation, mood, energy levels, and, most importantly, the people I'm around.Below are the my self titled project 3 in which progress in exploring with myself , my personality and my style.

Week 10 , 09/06/2022
1. What is your passion?
Creativity is my passion. I enjoyed how design is a progress of questioning, investigating, creating, and innovating. It was a long process for me but I honed my skills. I use them to provide value and increase my personal satisfaction. This kind of passion is like to explore around of new ways in solving problems, finding new solutions to existing problem and looking for problems that need solutions.

2. What's motivate you to achieve your dream?
I would keep looking for inspirations , set my goals , accept the challenges and keep reflects on what I really care about.

3. How do you want to visualize your dream into an artwork?
I would love to visualize something that is imaginative, surreal, and seems unbelievable as if it is a dream.

4. What is the concept behind it?
The concept of retro-futurism , retro-futurism can be summarized as the future seen from the past, is like a blend of science , fiction and art , though sometimes it also incorporates the notion of past seen from the future. Combines the modern-day aesthetics with futuristic technology and a mix of old-fashion design.

5. What is the message you want people to understand it?
With the theme of futuristic and imaginative. In my opinion, dreaming and imagining are forms of fantasy. Things that we consider “fantastic,” such as “fantastic animals” or “fantastic worlds” or “fantastic literature” seem to me to be things that will not ever exist or happen in the “real world” as they are an imaginative inventions.

6. What is your quotes/ motto ?
“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.”

Fig 3.0 Final Sketches,
Week 11 , 16/06/2022

In sketches #1, the main idea was to show the different side of me, whereas sketches #2 was to show me as a mosaic of broken pieces, fitting together beautifully to create the wonder of my soul. It is my goal to prove that broken things can be beautiful in their own way.

Fig 4.0 Removing Background & Masking,
Week 11 , 16/06/2022

First, I take my own portraits with my side-view and edit them using Photoshop. I use quick selection tools to remove the background and mask it up. The refine hair button also helps me in masking by reducing the fringes.

Week 11 , 16/06/2022

In the next step, I add some gradients as a background. Additionally, I used lasso tool to select the part of the face and my half-body I needed to split and used brush tool to color the middle part of the face and body.

Week 11 , 16/06/2022

These are the free elements of PNG that I used for this project. The resources are from PNG.trees . These vectors include crystals, diamonds, flowers, cyberpunk elements, and abstract metallic liquids that look like they are in 3D. Here are the steps I took to apply them to my artwork.

As for editing the video, I chose to use Photoshop. For most of the changes I made, I used the transform tool to move myself around in the face, flowers, and crystal. I also use style to change the shadows of the "PeiYun" word. Here are the results:

---FINAL OUTCOME ---

Fig 7.0 Final Poster "Hey, My Imagination" in PDF
Fig 7.1 Final Video Outcome

Hey, My Imagination.

The idea of this poster came from few poster that I saw from Pinterest, about retro-futurism. I love how it combines the modern-day aesthetics with futuristic technology and a mix of old-fashion design to make it looks unrealistic. Yes, i love unrealistic creativity stuff. Things that seem to be that will not ever exist or happen in the “real world” as they are an imaginative inventions.

“Is it normal to love imaging?” I asked myself. Well, I believe imagination is the door to possibilities. It is where creativity, ingenuity and thinking outside the box begin for one’s development. It influences everything we do, think about and create. Imagination = Creativity. Through imagination, we can step outside of our current context, revisit the past , explore around and find ourselves, time travel to the future and imagine and reimagine the world we wanted. Imagination is free ! Feel free to imagine.

---REFLECTION ---
I enjoyed the process of designing this final project involved intensive thinking, building concepts, ideas, capturing and creating ideas from observation. In overall and as always , I find it enjoyable in doing Digital Photography & Imaging exercises and project and I appreciate that I am learning how to think creatively.
